A2A Profile (AVIP-A2A)

Normative profile of the agent-to-agent subprotocol — which AVIP components compose it and the end-to-end scenario.

A2A Profile — AVIP-A2A

A2A is a profile: a composition of domain components for the case where one agent (the requester) commissions another agent (the executor) to perform work under declared constraints. It introduces no new primitives — it specifies which components participate and how they chain together.

For the conceptual overview and capability narrative, see Protocol · A2A Subprotocol. This page is the component-level profile.

The Closed Loop

feeds next IntentIntentsigned bounds(INT)Traceper-step tracking(EXE)Proofauto compare(AUD)Verdicttrust score(TRU)

The final verdict feeds back into the trust score, which becomes an input to the next Intent's counterparty evaluation. Agents that fulfill accumulate trust and attract more work; agents that violate lose the ability to win work.

Normative Requirements

  • Both counterparties MUST act under DIDs and sign their respective records.
  • The Intent MUST pass AVIP-INT-VER and be anchored before the escrow is funded.
  • Funds MUST remain in EscrowManager custody until all milestones are verified (release) or a refund / dispute path is taken.
  • A Completion Proof MUST be generated at the convergence point of all settlement paths, so no settled order is missed.
  • The verdict MUST be computed deterministically per AVIP-AUD-PRF and applied per AVIP-TRU-VDT.

Scenario Walkthrough

Setup. Orchestrator agent R commissions specialist agent E to produce a deliverable for 10 USDC across 5 milestones, deadline in 48h.

  1. Declare. R signs an Intent (issuerDid = R, subjectDid = E, maxAmount = 10, milestoneCount = 5, deadline). The Platform runs AVIP-INT-VER; the Intent is anchored at keccak256("intent:" + orderId).
  2. Fund. The operator co-signs createEscrow; R's 10 USDC is locked. Status → Funded.
  3. Execute. E submits milestone 0; R verifies it. Each verified milestone is anchored at orderId:milestoneIndex. A milestone may be resubmitted up to 3 times before arbitration.
  4. Settle. On the final verified milestone, a Completion Proof is built: all 5 completed, within budget, within scope, within deadline → verdict = FULFILLED. It is anchored at keccak256("proof:" + orderId); the escrow releases to E (minus fee).
  5. Score. AVIP-TRU-VDT applies +3.0 to E and +1.5 to R.

Dispute branch. If a milestone is rejected three times, AVIP-SET-DSP freezes the escrow; the arbitrator resolves; funds move atomically per the decision; the verdict reflects DISPUTED → resolved.

Backward Compatibility

A2A is an enhancement layer. Orders created without an Intent settle through the standard lifecycle with flat trust scoring (+2.0 / +1.0) and produce no Completion Proof. Existing integrations are unaffected.
